Chris Coles - Managing Director

Whilst the team is busy processing the best mutton and Lamb the UK has to offer and the sales team are off meeting customers and promoting our product, Chris is busy driving the business forward with intelligent strategic and financial planning.

 

As Managing Director, Chris boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience making him an invaluable asset to Janan. He plays a pivotal and hands on role in the planning and day-to-day management of the business delivering an immediate impact on the business process.

 

Chris believes that in order for us to be successful the business needs to be flexible and responsive to the constantly changing industry and customer requirements. 

 

Janan Meat Limited, and in particular the Finance Department, are geared up to report, analyse and then utilise the management information quickly and efficiently in order to improve our processes, service and value.

 

Here at Janan we have set out a plan for future growth, which supported by Chris’s acumen, expertise and experience we will deliver, he gives us a real advantage when considering the best type of investment opportunities to run with including our expansion and improvement planning.

Tony King - Senior Sales Executive

 Tony thrives on meeting our customers’ needs with an unequalled passion & drive for sales. Tony came into the protein sector at the age of 18 and since then he’s amassed an impressive 40 years’ experience in the sector. He has headed up sales teams for some of the largest processors serving a myriad of high street retailers and meat processors throughout the UK and Europe. 

As you’d expect, a big part of Tony’s role is building relationships with new and existing customers. He takes pride in introducing people to the business by taking them through all the aspects of the business, covering what we can do to deliver showing customers that Janan is the right supplier for their business. 

 

Developing strong relationships helps us to consistently meet requirements and exceed expectations. Tony and his team are always willing to go above and beyond for every single one of our customers. As a result, Tony and his team are encouraged to invite customers to our facilities, to give them a tour of our site and the chance to meet the wider team whilst having a good look at what we have to offer as a key supplier to your business.

Kevin Brookes - Commercial Director

Commercial Director, Kevin Brookes, has a passion for lamb and sheep meat and a drive for delivering sales, his experience in carcase sales is second to none.

 

Kevin started working in the meat trade at the age of 16 and since then he’s built up an impressive 29 years’ experience, having worked in all departments within the processing of lamb & sheep meat here at Janan. 

This grounded combination of skills makes him a very credible and approachable person for our customers to engage with. Kevin has grown with Janan to become a key member of the senior management team. We’re proud to say that this set of skills exists throughout all our Sales team.

As you’d expect, a big part of Kevin’s role is attracting new customers. He takes great pride in introducing people to the company and showing them all the things that make Janan the best option for your business and supply of premium mutton and lamb.

 

The team work and ethics that we practice at Janan, helps Kevin to achieve his goal to convince customers that Janan is the best choice for their business, both existing and new customers alike.

Richard Long - Operations Manager

Operations Manager, Richard Long,  has spent a number of years in sales and production where he developed his passion for the fresh meat trade. Richard gets the best out of his team and makes sure that we always get the job done.

 

Richard has a hands-on approach, he takes pride in getting under the skin of things and being involved in all aspects of site production, applying his organisation skills throughout the business, ensuring the site is running as effectively and efficiently as possible.

In a nutshell, Richard is responsible for everything from intake to despatch. He’s a passionate manager who understands that teamwork is key in delivering everything we do. 

Richard thrives on delivering ‘Quality and Service all measured by Efficiency’. In order to do this, he needs to keep his team working together smoothly and effectively, this is where his operational skills and man management experience come into play.

Attention to detail, passion and drive are just a few of the things that Richard brings to Janan along with a wealth of experience gained working within the meat industry.

Trevor Bellis - Non-Executive Director

 “ Ever since my early days in the industry, I’ve always believed in producing great meat, putting every effort into delivering what the customer wants while ensuring it drives the business forward in quality and standards.”

Trevor Bellis has a mission for all that’s meat and a passion for sales. 

Trevor started working in the protein sector at the age of 15 and since then he’s built up an impressive 40 years’ experience in the sector working as a butcher, buyer and a salesman with some of the largest retailers and meat producer processors in the UK.

 

His skillset makes him a very approachable person for customers to engage with and this is supported with his wealth of knowledge and knowing what he’s talking about, when it comes to butchery, being a skilled butcher he is also more than capable of demonstrating it when cutting and managing sample requests for our customers. 

 As you’d expect, a big part of Trevor’s role is building relationships with new and existing customers. He takes a true pride in introducing people to the business by taking them through all the things that make us the best in our field, showing customers that Janan is the right supplier for their business.

David Fleetwood - Chairman

Leading from the front with a relentless work ethic and desire to achieve David has enjoyed a career spanning over 40 years within the international meat processing industry, working in all sectors of the supply chain, through stakeholder development, farming producer groups and across all species 

 

Chairman, David Fleetwood is a man who embodies everything that’s great about the meat industry. 

 

David’s worked around the world and in every aspect of the industry his experience has given him a truly unique perspective that helps lead the company and allows us to deliver the level of quality and service that has become Janan’s trademark. 

 

Everyone here at Janan takes great pride in what we do, and no one more so than David. He’s helped build and take the business from its foundations to where it is today, offering great quality, great service, all from a site that is something to be proud of.
